You can’t pin this gold bird down, a pretty symbol of peace. As such, it’s as simple as aiming for your collar to show that you’d rather make peace, not war. Jewelry designer Janet Mavec watched Columbidae that came a-pecking on her property, drawing them and eventually casting them in intricate detail in metal. One can only surmise that the doves must have seen the name of her farm, Bird Haven, where there’s always a vacancy for flying creatures.

A pin is expected on a lapel or collar, so be unexpected. Pin it to your purse, your hat, your sleeves, your belt even. If there's something that calls for a pin, you can pretty it up with the gold bird pin. Buy a flock and pin them across your outfit. People will feel freedom just looking at you.
Special note:
The Peace Dove was the first in the Bird Haven collection. Designer Janet Mavec started sketching it the day after 9/11. Initially, she sold the dove in solid gold.
Pablo Picasso was fascinated with them. His lithograph of a dove became a famous symbol of peace in 1949 at the International Peace Congress in Paris. The painter famously said: “I stand for life against death; I stand for peace against war.” Don’t we all?
Picasso’s daughter was named Paloma, which is Spanish for “dove.”
Doves mate for life, and they always lay two eggs. Just two (with the rarest of exceptions).
An unsuspecting mourning dove in the Tri-State area was the model for this particular charm.
