Inexplicable, isn’t it? Our fascination with the labyrinth. In the Age of Google Maps (2005-present), it’s a little hard not to know what to expect around every corner and how long it will take to get there. Janet, inspired by the Chartres Cathedral in France, designed these to remind us that we still live in a time of mindless meander, and that’s a good thing.
So hang these Labyrinth earrings on your lobes, access that database known as the Worldwide Labyrinth Locator, and plan a journey (we accept, reluctantly, that you may plot your directions to it with Google Maps).
No experience is required to use a labyrinth. You just need to have an open mind and consider the thoughts that come to you when you walk through it.
Medieval labyrinths were not simply ornamental but represented the spiritual path to God. Today they can be used for a path to meditation or mindfulness.
There are two types of meanderings. The labyrinths is unicursal—there’s only one path in and out. The maze, meant to confuse, is multicursal.
